All around campus one can see the effects of the programs the University has put in place to create a sustaibale future. Below is a list of both offices and campus resources available to not only learn to live a more sustainable life, but also gain an understanding of UR's relationship with the James River. Office for Sustainability- The Office for Sustainability provides leadership and support to the University of Richmond community as it charts a course for sustainability and pursues its ambitious climate neutrality goals. The office convenes diverse campus and community stakeholders in an effort to integrate sustainability, adaptation, and resilience into administrative, operational, and academic functions of the University.

Department of Geography and the Environment- The Department of Geography and the Environment partners with multiple other academic departments (i.e., Dept. of Biology, Dept. of Chemisty) to offer students an Environmental studies major or minor.

Center for Student Involvement- The Center for Student Involvement serves as a catalyst for student involvement, experiential learning through leadership, and helps foster strategic partnerships, collaborations, and programmatic participation among student organizations.

Outdoor Adventure and Recreation Program- The University of Richmond Outdoor Adventure and Recreation (OAR) Program promotes healthy lifestyle choices through outdoor activities. The OAR program aims to create an inclusive environment for students where they can challenge themselves through participation in outdoor trips.

Spatial Analysis Lab (SAL)- The lab features eight dual-monitor computer workstations and the latest Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) and Remote Sensing software programs. The SAL also houses an extensive map collection and a rapidly growing library of digital data.

Global Environment Speaker Series- Each year the Department of Geography & the Environment, the Environmental Studies Program and International Studies Program partner to bring noteworthy speakers and scholars to Richmond to present lectures related to our global environment.
